It turns out, I have been quoted as an authority on the internet - as far as I know, for the first time ever.

See my old Harold Bloom review here.
I migrated my blog to Google today, replacing the old and unstable title tags with handy labels.

In my stint at that's Shanghai, I have written more than 150 articles. The restaurant reviews are of local interest only, but I added some that's music reviews to my folio page.

Today I also booked our hotels for India. Indian hotel websites are charming. For example, Hotels of India enlivens their photographs with an oversized red wine glass photoshopped onto every single photo. See two examples. Meanwhile, Royal Court India strives above all for technical accuracy.

In the course of my research, I also discovered there is a Delhi, Louisiana. I discovered this after I spent some time mistakenly researching Louisiana's Best Western Delhi. I would rather not say how much time.

While searching for a nightclub to review last night, we happened upon the Chantilly Bakery. A large window-sized poster in the bakery's front entrance showed a close up of several dainty cakes on a plate beside a steaming cup of coffee, a vase of flowers, and a folded copy of the morning paper.

Unfortunately, the newspaper's headline - clearly legible and prominently placed at the poster's center - read "Cyclone in India kills thousands"

I am back after a long hiatus - an earthquake in Taiwan severed undersea communications cables between that island and the mainland, effectively stopping all international internet traffic.

But enough totally legitimate excuses! It's a new year and I have many exciting projects in the months ahead. I resigned as an editor for that's Shanghai to devote myself more completely to freelance projects in 2007.
